The field season is now open for catching the little zooplankton animals!
Yongcui Sha and myself are
collecting Daphnia magna in diverse
aquatic systems in West Skåne. Combining biomolecular and nanoparticle tracking
techniques, we want to investigate the intra- and inter- behavioral variability
of Daphnia magna individuals
collected from natural populations, as inferred from their population genetic
structure and their swimming patterns under natural environmental stressors
such as UV and predation.
Now we are looking forward to further understand
how Daphniids are happily living outside of the lab!
